Primary School

Welcome to Kopkop College Primary School

Primary School is one of the most exciting and foundational periods in our young students’ lives. It is when we celebrate and explore their natural curiosity and acceptance of new ideas as we build a solid foundation of skills through our interdisciplinary, approach to learning.

EECE

Early Childhood Care and Education

At our ECCE, daily activities establish the foundation for all future learning and give your children as early as 3 years old the opportunity to safely explore the world around them. When it’s finally time to move on, ECCE students begin Primary School with a great sense of resourcefulness and independence, thanks to their blossoming great start at our ECCE and their increased confidence and self-esteem.

Pre-prep and Prep

At our Junior School our aim is to give your child the best possible start on their educational journey. We believe that by providing a balance between child-initiated and adult-led activities, we offer a curriculum that meets the individual needs and interests of the children. We believe in the power of collaborative learning and the benefits of tailoring lessons to different learning styles.

Middle School

Grades 1, 2, and 3

Our students are:
  • Curious about the world they live in – our teachers support students to ask questions about what they learn in class
  • Keen readers and thinkers – our courses are based on children’s literature.  Our teachers challenge our learners to think about the themes and characters of the books they borrow every week
  • Confident communicators – we help our students to value and refine their ideas and articulate them fluently both verbally and in their writing
  • Team players – our teachers encourage students to actively contribute to group work in order to successfully complete rigorous classroom tasks
  • Reflective learners – in our supportive classroom environments, students see error not as failure but the road to improvement and a vital stepping stone to academic success

Senior School

Grades 4, 5 and 6

Here, its all about getting them ready for Secondary School. Our curriculum gives students the skills and knowledge they will need for the transition into Secondary School and their further education, as well as making a strong and positive contribution to society.

In the class room our teachers use dynamic marking which happens live and provides students with instant feedback on areas of work to focus on. Our teachers are continuously assessing and tracking individual progress, ensuring that learning in personalized and opportunities are not missed. It is important for us that our students are able to think globally, work well in groups and be confident enough to take their own path where necessary.  Outdoor learning is also considered vital to our students’ development and children spend considerable time outside, rain or shine, each day.

our Prefects

A Prefect is a Protector. That is, a Prefect protects Kopkop College which includes both the School’s assets, which are Kopkop College’s property and equipment and the students who attend the Kopkop College.

Therefore, the role of a Prefect is to assist in protecting the students and equipment of the School. The Role of protecting is a SERVICE, Prefects serve the School, by being true leaders. The best way of measuring how well Prefects function is in what DOESN’T happen rather than what DOES happen.
