Kopkop College welcome back its annual in-house Mathematics and English competition in 2023. The event is organized and run by the heads of school and subject teachers from the secondary and upper primary school.
The competition was last held in 2020 and has since got a lot of student interest and engagement. Returning this year, the event witnessed participants from the secondary school, with the inclusion of grades 5 and 6 from the upper primary school.
This year saw the English department with its Famous Spelling Bee competition and the Maths department Math Quiz with its own theme “Keep Mathematics Fit (KMF)”. The participating students were asked questions on the subject strands and sub-strands covered in class.
After welcoming everyone to the event, SSC for the mathematics department and Master of Ceremony Mr. Maxwell Sipona, says the competition is not just an event, it is an initiative by the school to give students the opportunity to continue improving their mathematical skills, revise and become better in field.
The event saw students from grade 5 competing against grade 6, grade 7 against grade 8, grade 9 against 10, and grade 11 against grade 12.
