It is my privilege to welcome you as the Executive Director and founder of Kopkop College. Kopkop College has a unique program and one that did not happen overnight. Rather, the vision of Kopkop College was the result of several journeys, including my own, which led us down this path. Kopkop College started a mother’s yearning to create a place where I could care for young children.

Kopkop College (KC) with the said philosophy begin its borne voyage in the ocean of academics with only 20 students in the year 1983 but with the untiring attempts of our staff, constant support of parents and zealous performance of our students this small beginning became big and touched the pinnacle of success. As a Nurse, or perhaps because I never had brothers and sisters of my own, perhaps not I had an earnest desire to build a place where I could care for young children. The yearning grew when I completed my Maternal and Child Welfare Training at Lemakot Sacred Heart School of Nursing.

In 1982 I decided to create a school that would appreciate, understand, challenge and embrace a child just as they are and today, I feel proud to say that my lofty dream of a quality institution is taking shape through it. Today Kopkop College is one of the best schools in the country because of the high standards it has set for itself in providing excellent education and living up to its school motto “Nihil Nisi Melius” which means strive to do better.

First and foremost, I seek to create an environment where children will learn and develop by fostering physical well-being, by nourishing and maintaining emotional health, by fostering social development, by enhancing creativity, by developing language skill and meatal ability, and working in special situations. 

Kopkop College is established to provide quality learning opportunities for PNG students, and to promote and enhance essential family values and individual talents. We strive to help them create meaningful relationships with adults as well as with each other. A foundation for academic and social thinking is established and then built on over time.

Kopkop College is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals – from a devoted executive team to a highly trained group of teachers. Inside each of the rooms in Kopkop College, inspired staff members bring experience, creativity and intention to their work with our school. Our staff is comprised of exceptional individuals working together for the benefit of our children and families.

Kopkop College succeeds in its mission because, at ages four and five, our students begin a ten-year journey to learn the importance of hard work, fair play, and warm friendship.

Kopkop College’s coeducational environment reflects the world in which our students will one day live and work. Beyond mastering academic disciplines, Kopkop College students are taught to respect all people and things, to be honest with themselves and others, put forth maximum effort, and seek ways to support their communities.
