- Prepare children for later schooling, through learning beyond traditional academic subjects and applying methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem solving.
Increased Confidence and Self-esteem:
At our Daycare, daily activities establish the foundation for all future learning and give your children as early as 3 years old the opportunity to safely explore the world around them.
Language, Mathematics, Environmental Science, PNG Culture and Health lessons allow the children to think critically, act, question, reflect and imagine.
When it’s finally time to move on, ECCE students begin Primary School with a great sense of resourcefulness and independence, thanks to their blossoming great start at our ECCE and their increased confidence and self-esteem.

Phonics and Reading
At Kopkop College, Phonics teaching is an important element of the curriculum for all children who are at this stage of learning. A variety of materials must be used with Letters and Sounds providing a core scheme in the Day Care and Preparatory Stages. The school encourages the use of book bands to provide a broad range of reading materials for individual pupils in the early stages of reading. Regular guided reading sessions for all pupils throughout the grades in primary school will develop reading skills and provide an opportunity to share, discuss and enjoy books.
