PRIMARY LIBRARY

There are about hundreds of books in the primary library which formerly accommodated the secondary and the primary books.

At the primary library students do book reviews, one-on one reading, storytelling, role plays and scheduled reading sessions, under the subject Library.

The Primary Library has initiated a reading program headed by chief librarian Mrs Margaret Maha, in which students are encouraged to borrow, take a book home and ensure parents write down their comments on the reading log, after the student has completed his or her reading.

SECONDARY LIBRARY

At the secondary library we have books for referencing, general collections, periodicals fictions and non-fictions. The secondary library also has a special collection of our PNG stories and history which the library permits students to borrow and return in a day. Students can borrow other collections and return them at the end of the week. The secondary library promotes reading amongst the secondary students with its spacious, fresh and friendly look. During their free time students move in freely to borrow and spend their time reading and browsing through books

secondary ict lab

Kopkop college secondary school Information and Communication Technology LAB has 30 computers accessible to every secondary school student from grades 7-12. The friendly, open room gives students the space to move, think and participate freely.

Computer lessons in the secondary school, allow students to explore basic computing skills on how to use Microsoft words, publishers, MS excel and spreadsheets, and carry out research and do power point presentations.

Students are also taken through a thorough study on the overall hardware system that makes up an actual computer. The Year 11’s and 12’s are in the advanced stage of learning computing. Grade 12’s in particular learn about multi-media and website designing, those under taking business studies have access to ICT learning, and gain valuable knowledge in budgeting and other necessary skills.

Under ICT, Moodle lessons have been implemented since 2020 to help students continue their lessons during COVID-19 lockdowns. There are plans to create a remedial platform for examinable grades in the near future.
