pERFORMANCE MONITORING
In today’s education climate, school success is defined as ensuring achievement for every student. To reach this goal, we identify students who are at risk academically and adjust instructional strategies to better meet these students’ needs. Student performance monitoring helps our teachers use our students performance data to continually evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching and make more informed instructional decisions. Performance monitoring is used to assess students’ academic performance, to quantify a student rate of improvement or responsiveness to instruction, and to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction.
1. Observation
The teacher assesses by the observing the student’s work attitude and behaviour in class.
Observation is a very vital tool to assess and measure the psychological and emotional aptitude
The teacher assesses the students individually through conferencing on familiar and on topics covered.
3. Research
The teacher assesses the student by giving him/her a topic that requires them to use various sources to acquire the required information within a given time frame.
4. Practical Assessment
The application of the above processes must be enforced by all schools where applicable.
A Performance Standard is to be used as the assessment criteria for the above processes in regard to Observation and Conferencing processes.
